We held a significant and productive meeting with the Minister of Economy and Labor, in which the president of the Chamber of Crafts of North Macedonia, Agron Fazliji, participated, together with the presidents of the regional chambers of commerce from Gostivar, Tetovo, Prilep and the president of the assembly from Ohrid. The purpose of this meeting was to review the current challenges and opportunities for the development of handicrafts, which is an important segment of the economy in our country.

Crafts in North Macedonia have a long and rich tradition, and play a key role in the preservation of cultural heritage and the economic development of local communities. Artisans have always been a pillar of the economy, with their unique skills and creativity, which they pass down from generation to generation.

🏛 During the meeting, the Minister of Economy and Labor emphasized the importance of craftsmanship and emphasized the commitment of the Ministry and the Government to providing continuous support for this sector. The Ministry has already taken concrete steps, such as the announcement of a public call for subsidies, which foresees measures for financial support of artisans and promotion of their activity.

With these measures, the Government aims not only to support the sustainable development of handicrafts, but also to strengthen the competitiveness of craftsmen on the domestic and international market. In addition, it was emphasized that in the coming period, work will be done on creating new policies and initiatives that will facilitate the artisans’ access to finance, resources and training, in order to advance their activity and preserve the tradition.

We, as the Chamber of Crafts of North Macedonia, appreciate this approach and are committed to strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Labor, as well as with all relevant institutions, to ensure that crafts will continue to be a vital part of our country’s economy .

In the coming period, we will continue with activities and initiatives that will contribute to greater visibility and support of artisans, because we believe that they are one of the key drivers of local economic development.
